Henley Primary School

School Day

The following gives an idea of a typical day.  Please bear in mind that during the Covid-19 pandemic the school is following Government guidance and this information is liable to change.

Watoto breakfast club is available.  All children are welcome and booking is via the School Gateway app.  Please see the Watoto club page for more information.

Gate opens and children will be asked to either wash their hands or be given hand sanitiser and their temperature will be taken.  The children are encouraged to greet the staff as they come into the playground.

The school day starts with children coming into classrooms where teachers are waiting to welcome them and registration is done.

Registration closes.  It is important that lessons are not disrupted by late arrivals as children who are late miss important introductions to lessons.  Pupils arriving after this time will be marked as late.

Children have a 15 minute morning playtime.

Lunch is served.  All children benefit from a variety of dishes, freshly cooked on the premises, with vegetarian and vegan options available at a cost of £2.30.  Children are welcome to bring a healthy packed lunch, and they can enjoy their meal in the dining room or outside.  The government Universal Infant Free School Meal scheme applies to Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils.  We are a nut-free school, so please bear this in mind when providing a packed lunch for your child.

KS1 have an additional 15 minute play time.

The school day ends and parents collect their children from the playground.  The teacher will bring the children out to meet you.

Your child has the opportunity of joining a termly offer of a variety of extra-curricular clubs and activities.

Our popular after school provision at the Watoto club is available and booking is via the School Gateway app.  Please see the Watoto club page for more information.
