Thursday 9th October - Sensory Trail in the woodlands, High Ropes and the legendary GIANT SWING!
Today has been another fantastic day. Each and every day, every single child has pushed themselves that little bit further and achieved another obstacle or conquered a fear – what amazing children we have at Henley! More of us have had our go on the Giant Swing today, and we have also been balancing in the trees on the high ropes. We have also had lots of fun on the sensory trail where the children completed an obstacle course... whilst blindfolded!
So it is our last night tonight, and we are off to do a big quiz. We get to have a go at the climbing wall tomorrow, and we also have a fencing workshop before we head back onto the coach to return home. Everyone is looking forward to seeing their families tomorrow. Caythorpe Court has yet again been a wonderful place to visit, and we want to thank all the team here for looking after us so well. A massive thank you to all of you back home as well for your continued support. We will see you tomorrow! Over and Out.
Wednesday 8th October - The Zip Wire, surviving in the wilderness and let's not forget a trip to the shop!
What another amazing day! The children had another good night sleep with zero tears! It was also wonderful to see some of them creating their own coping strategies if they couldn't sleep, such as doing some colouring or reading a book. We have been zooming down the zip wire today, jumping off the tops of giant poles in Trapeze and running around the site playing disc–golf – Frisbees were flying everywhere. The children have been working well in teams today during Survivor, where they had to work together to build dens, carve pieces of wood and light fires. And, of course, we mustn't forget the trip to the shop! The children have really enjoyed spending their spending money, and they all say a massive THANK YOU to you! We are off to have a campfire tonight where the children have prepared their own theatrical routines and there may even be a roasted marshmallow or two.
Tuesday 7th October - Raft Building, Jacob's Ladder and Problem-Solving, OH MY!
We woke up bright and early this morning for a 7am breakfast. The children slept really well and every single child showed amazing resilience by settling down well and going to sleep; not one child got up and left their room during the night. We are very proud of them! We have had a super exciting day, building rafts, solving different practical problems and climbing Jacob's Ladder. We then all managed to chill and relax with a nice, friendly game of Aeroball. One group even got to try out the Giant Swing today! We are now off to play Ambush, which is basically Hide-and-Seek in the dark. The children are setting a wonderful example to the other schools.
Monday 6th October – We have arrived!!!
Barracudas have got off to a flying start. We arrived around half past 11 and have already had a go at Archery and All Aboard. The children have certainly taken risks by climbing an extremely tall pole to reach the platform at the top. We've had a delicious dinner and are now heading out to do Balloon Splash, which involves creating a container for a water balloon to try and protect it before it is thrown off the top of the rock climbing wall. Everyone is happy and enjoying spending time with their friends.
The children are happy and having a wonderful time.
